Hero is a status conferred on a player by the gods, allowing them to
continue to advance beyond the normal restrictions of the game.
Although heroes do not actually level, per se, they are able to achieve
'steps' to much the same effect. All heroes are automatically involved in
PK (see help PK and index PK for more information). When it comes to PK
with other heroes, they are not affected by the 'lawful' status of zones.
Level 91 characters are considered to be 'in range' of hero level
characters for PK, meaning that a hero may attack a level 91. All other
characters are out of range to hero level characters, though they may still
deal revenge for clanmates. Certain equipment is only usable by heroes.
When you become a hero, none of quest points, pracs, or trains will carry
over. Just like with remorting, you will enter this new stage of your
character's existence from a basic start point.
In order to gain Hero Status, you must have:
- 20 Roleplay Points
- A title (see help TITLE QUESTS)
- An approved CASTLE zone, opened and linked in-game
A player may complete these tasks in any order. They may complete their
hero zone and get it added, then work on their title quest, while
continuing to work on getting the rest of their roleplay points.
It is possible to lose hero status, for instance, by killing a player below
level 91 or dropping below 20 roleplaying points. Heroes are expected to
behave in a manner befitting a hero while maintaining their defined
character roleplay. Heroes are also not allowed to jump from one clan to
another; however, leaving a clan because of the ethics of the character will
be considered on a case-by-case basis. Heroes are expected to write the
staff stating their desires and why it is required based upon their known
rp. Heroes are also discouraged from going OUTLAW; however, this is also
on a case-by-case basis as it is understood that Heroes, while being
required to behave in a manner befitting a hero, also have differing moral
views and different rp. Please see help HERO RP for more details.
Currently, heroes are not permitted to remain in NPK clans. This may change
if clan mechanics change in the future.
Heroes should not steal from non-heroes per Arawn's news post on 7/23/10.
Abuse of the above could result in loss of hero or ability to obtain hero.
