November is National Novel Writing Month, a time when writers all across
the world sit down to write a novel (classified as 50,000 words or more)
in 30 days. What does this have to do with Lensmoor? Not much, except it
does offer you a way to support your fellow Lensmoorian writers and donate
money to Lensmoor at the same time!
People involved in the nano project can add themselves to a writer list
using NANO UPDATE <wordcount>. This is the same command that will let
you update your wordcount.
The NANO GOAL <wordcount> command will allow you to set your expected goal.
The standard goal is 50,000 words. You can set your goal higher or lower.
Sponsors can pledge support to a writer (or writers) with NANO SPONSOR.
There are three ways to sponsor a writer. You can sponsor them for a fixed
amount, using NANO SPONSOR <writer> <amount>.
You can sponsor for each X words, using:
NANO SPONSOR <writer> <amount> PER <wordcount increment>
You can sponsor for getting to X words, using:
NANO SPONSOR <writer> <amount> AT <wordcount threshold>
Anyone can view a current list, of both writers and their progress (and
calculated amount earned), with NANO VIEW.
Only writers who have registered (initially, nano update 0) are available
to be sponsored.
Sponsors may pledge one of each type of donation per writer (if they're
that generous). A second pledge of the same type, to the same person, will
overwrite the first.
