Question:I'm a newbie. Where do I go to gain levels?
Answer:Initially stay in Chancy. The mobs there give good experience. The meadows (south of chancy) is an arena-type area with lots of mobs to kill, but not much in the way of equip or other items. Lorthien and Grey Plains have both mobs and good equipment to find. Finally, the Bard's College Ruins has some interesting items in it. These 4 areas will keep you going until about level 10 or so.

Question:How does my pet level?
Answer:If your pet lands the killing blow to a mob, it has a random chance of gaining a level. The farther the pet is from your level, the greater the chance it has to level. Your pet can never get higher in level than your level -3.

Question:I typed recall, but I ended up in Chancy
Answer:This is because Chancy is your hometown when you start the game. To recall to lensmoor, type 'recall lens' (quotes and all) and press enter.

Question:How do I see my stats, like hitpoints, mana, armor, etc. ?
Answer:Type "score" (just the word, not the quotes) and press enter.

Question:I named myself Bilbo and now they want me to change my name!
Answer:Hey, look. If they allowed names from books it would get pretty silly. Alot of us have had to change our names. It's not so bad.

Question:What are those letters I see next to monsters and people when I see them?
Answer:This tells you if you should fight them or not. X means you cannot fight them (there are various reasons why this occurs). An E means they are easy. (but you won't get much experience) A C means they are a challenge. You will likely win against a C, and you may get decent experience. It depends. An H means they will hurt you. Before you take on an H make sure you have all your spells up and are otherwise prepared. An M mans they will mourn your death, and they ain't kidding. Sometimes you can take on an M and win, usually if you get some spells cast on you by a higher level person to help you out. These letters are also color-coded. Green means go, red means stop, and yellow means think about it before you decide.

Question:How do I capture a mob after subdueing it.
Answer:Use the BIND command. The mob will be tied up and follow you.

Question:Why don't some of the portals let me enter when I type enter (portal name)?
Answer:There are several possible reasons for not being allowed to enter a portal. Some portals, particularly to high level areas, are level restriction and you have to be a certain level or higher to use them. Another reason is that you may be cursed, often by an item, though there is a spell as well. While cursed, some portals won't work for you. And finally, some portals have 'secret' portal names that are required to use them. These may require you to type ENTER or sometimes simply the name alone.

Question:How Do I identify a Questmaster?
Answer:Try asking them for a quest.

Question:How many Trains or Practices do I gain per Level
Answer:You get trains based on your earned experience to level. You get one practice every 2 levels, and one every 2 hours you play. Level 1 - 7 You get 1 to 3 Trains per level depending on your setexp (the amount you need to level). You get up to 3 Practices per level depending on your Wisdom. Level 8 and up You get 1 to 3 Trains per level depending on your setexp (the amount you need to level). You get 1 Practice every other level.

Question:How do I feed my pet?
Answer:Pets do not need to be fed at the current time. Use the 'feed' command to force potions, pills, and other substances down your companion's throat.

Question:how do I tell what type of armor or weapon is better? the armor ratings don't change much.
Answer:Use the compare command to tell the difference in general. The 'identify' spell will give more detail, and several NPC's exist who will cast it for you. The reason the ratings in your score don't change much is because armor is locational. The rating is an average of all your locational armor, so changing one piece of armor may not affect the total much, but will make a difference when you get hit in that location.

Answer:Satan is the name of a devil/demon/fallen angel of christian mythology. Lensmoor is not set in a world where chistianity is known, therefore Satan does not belong there. Lensmoor has rules about what names may be used, that are presented to you when creating a character. These rules are: Your name may not be a word, or a concatenation of words (DarkKnight or LadyBeth) Your name may not be a known character from literature. Literature is defined as: TV, Movies, Books, Video Games, Comics, etc. Lensmoor is not Middle Earth, and so Gandalf should not be walking around it. Your name may not be nonsense typing or 'warez' style. Co0lD0OdZ are encouraged to play elsewhere, as are adsfdkfj's.
