Policy Change: Immortal Spells
Immortal Spells are special spells that belong to the god they are named after. You can CLICK HERE to view the list of existing ones. Each one has it's own help file describing it's use.
Occasionally when an immortal goes inactive and a new one takes over, the spell will change hands.
New policies have been added regarding this:
- Those who have already learned the immspell will be able to keep them.
The new owner will be provided a list of those who own the immspell. Players
are encouraged to welcome their new immspell overlords and imms may run
some IC event or activity based on the changeover. Players are not
obligated to respond to these events.
- Imms may not use the threat of not teaching an immspell to protect their
follower from being attacked.
Imms may not remove immspells from players for attacking their followers or their continent. However, while it is rare, it is possible to lose the immspell through IC actions. This usually involves personally offending the imm who currently owns it.
- Regardless of who owns a spell, goldies are heavily discouraged from learning necromantic spells.
Unless there is a mechanical align restriction or holy spell status, spells are not inherently aligned with the deitys alignment but the quest to earn the spell is going to fit the imm. Ex: Matreyas favour is not evil but you'd have a hard time earning it while avoiding evil acts.

It's a good change. I'm glad to know I won't loose my old spells!
